What Do Squares Mean In Astrology?
A square is a special angle when a diurnal arc enters 90 degrees of any sign in the Zodiac circle. Through this angle that can only be formed with the aid of a sextant, celestial navigators and horoscope planners can measure distances above or below the horizon.

Square aspects cause difficulty with both sides at once as they are equally disturbed by what is taking place as a result of the complications existing between them. This type of hardship is usually experienced in times when we come across obstacles on our route to success but has also been known to formulate into something constructive for those who persist; determined enough will always find a way around it.

Sometimes it can be hard for a square aspect to have a distinctly positive or negative influence. You need to decide whether the two houses involved in the square work in harmony with each other and share the same needs or if they come into conflict with each other.

For example, squares between two planets in different signs often cause some sort of struggle because they may represent two entirely different aspects of your life. The most important thing to remember is that nothing is all good or all bad - a square simply brings out both sides of someone's personality (the challenging side and the successful side).

Origin

The relevance of the astrological aspect made by two or more planets is from Astronomy. It connects the position of planets of the same sign (cardinal, fixed, or mutable).
These sorts of planets have similar qualities - like means to get themselves heard but different goals. So their forces almost collide when connected by certain angles. There's also math in the aspect: a circle has 360 degrees but, these are divided by four (90), etc.o.

Native squares

Squares in a birth chart never change. The placement of planets in a birth chart is identified as 'squares'. These particular squares represent specific areas of life and the aspects are unchangeable.

Transit squares

Transit squares are formed when a planet is aligned with the point in your horoscope that the planet currently orbits. They happen twice yearly, once when the planet is traveling towards it and again when the planet is moving away from it.

For example, every year there are six possible transit squares between each of the points of your horoscope and the sun. However, you will only experience each transit square once as they are spaced out, by six months between each occurrence.
