Stop Believing These Myths About Ayurveda Right Now!
Ayurveda, an ancient traditional medical approach, has become a fascinating discipline. We are losing contact with this long heritage for two major factors. To begin with, Ayurvedic literature is practiced in India, a dialect that many of us do not comprehend. Another reason is the influence of western culture on our way of life, which has caused us to assume that ancient belief systems and practices are less effective than those based on current science.

Let's debunk a few of the most frequent Ayurvedic myths:

Recovering with Ayurveda takes too long

That's not entirely correct. Ayurveda treats the problem at its source, so even if the signs don't go away right away, your body is being trained to be handled as a whole. When needed, however, certain Ayurvedic therapies can work as quickly as Western medications. If a person suffers from congestion, for example, Ayurveda provides some of the fastest-acting remedies.

Only a few diseases and ailments are treated by Ayurveda

No way! Ayurveda can treat a wide range of diseases, whether they are ongoing, acute, or as simple as the flu. There are specializations in Ayurveda, just as there are in modern medicine.

  • Kayachikitsa- Internal Healthcare

  • Prasuti Tantra - Obstetrics and Gynecology

  • Kaumarabritya – Pediatrics and Newborn Intensive Care

  • ShalyaTantra- Surgical Procedures

  • Agada Tantra- Toxicology

  • Shalakya- Ear, and Throat

  • BhutaVaidya- Psychiatry

  • Rasayana: Regeneration treatments for the elder people

Ayurveda is a philosophical science.

The Vedas (religious literature) is the source of Ayurveda; yet, Ayurveda does not discuss religion. Medical technology has adopted and continues to utilize all of Ayurveda's practical uses. Ayurveda, like Yoga, is a science that deals with physiological, anatomical, and pathological topics without mentioning religion.

Ayurveda suggests that you follow vegetarianism

Nope! The Ayurvedic writings were never written by gurus who only ate vegetarian food. In reality, many Ayurvedic medicines contain meat, milk, and other dairy items. However, if you enjoy eating meat, you must be careful.

Panchakarma is like getting a massage

This is one of the misconceptions that arose from the advertisements of the recent Spa culture. Ayurvedic massage is not even one of the Panchakarmas. Panchakarma treatment can be done without a massage. A panchakarma may not be as soothing as it appears, but it is a powerful detoxification procedure.

Herbs are centered when it comes to Ayurveda

Certainly not! Ayurvedic therapies can be done simply by making dietary or lifestyle adjustments. Herbs aren't the only type of medication used. Salts, resins, pebbles, alcohol, fruit juices, tea, and other healthy beverages are all available.
There are no negative effects associated with Ayurveda

It is the most widely held fallacy, and Ayurveda items are now available for general use on store shelves. Without adequate consultation, nobody should self-administer Ayurvedic products. When taken incorrectly, there can be consequences and side effects.
Clinical trials for Ayurvedic medications are lacking

Fact: In the country, strict criteria for quality assurance and standardization of Medicinal herbs have been created. The 'Protocol for Testing of ASU Medicines' is directed by the Pharmacopoeia Laboratory of Indian Medicine (PLIM) & the Central Council of Researches in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).

Furthermore, Rule 160 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules 1945 was established for quality assurance and standardization of ayurvedic medicines, ensuring the creation of drug testing facilities across the country. Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers must obtain certification from these laboratories certifying the quality and reliability of their products. However, it is recommended to get Ayurvedic medicines from reputable companies and authorized Ayurvedic practitioners.
Conclusion:

There have been a lot of times where due to some of the other reasons, Ayurveda has been considered as a less-effective method of healing the ailments. But, in reality; this ancient mine of knowledge and remedies has a lot to offer to mankind.
