Anemia can be diagnosed by the presence of a yellowish tint in the skin, nails, or eyes. Pandurog, as it is known in Ayurveda, is caused by a bad diet and blood loss. Ayurvedic medication to boost hemoglobin is the greatest technique to treat anemia or alleviate its symptoms.

Anemia is known as "Pandu Roga" in Ayurveda and is caused by an imbalance in the body's Vata, Pitta, and Kapha Doshas. Pitta Dosha vitiation can cause skin pallor (pandu), commonly known as low blood cell count. Anemia also causes an Agni imbalance (digestive fire).

Anemia Varieties

Due to iron deficiency

Iron deficiency anemia occurs when the number of healthy red blood cells in the blood decreases (called Vataja in Ayurveda). Red blood cells are the major oxygen carriers for the body's tissues, and low iron levels induce iron deficiency anemia. As a result, iron deficiency Anemia can make you feel tired and out of breath. Iron supplements are commonly used to treat iron-deficient anemia. If your doctor suspects that you are internally bleeding, more tests or treatments for iron deficiency anemia may be necessary.

Caused by a lack of vitamins

Vitamin deficiency anemia is caused by a shortage of healthy red blood cells caused by low levels of vitamin B-12 and folate. This can happen if you don't eat enough folate and vitamin B-12-rich foods, or if your body has trouble absorbing or digesting these nutrients. Without these compounds, the body produces red blood cells that are too large and cannot carry oxygen. Other symptoms include dizziness, weakness, and breathing difficulties. Vitamin injections or tablets used as supplements can compensate for these deficiencies.

Sickle cell disease

Sickle cell anemia is caused by sickle cell disease, a hereditary illness that changes the shape of red blood cells. Red blood cells, which transport oxygen throughout the body, can be impaired by sickle cell anemia. Circular red blood cells move freely in blood vessels. Sickle cell anemia, on the other hand, is distinguished by red blood cells with sickle or crescent forms. These sickle cells form a hard, sticky covering that can obstruct or impede blood flow. The majority of people with sickle cell anemia are terminal. Treatments can help to alleviate pain and prevent disease-related complications.

Aplastic Anemia is a kind of anemia.

Aplastic anemia develops when the body stops producing enough new blood cells. As a result, one may feel exhausted and sensitive to infections and bleeding caused by the illness. Aplastic Anemia, also known as Sannipataja in Ayurveda, is an uncommon and deadly disorder that can emerge at any age and can progress swiftly or gradually. It might be light or hefty. Aplastic Anemia is treated with medications, blood transfusions, and bone marrow transplants, all of which are referred to as stem cell transplants.

Thalassemia

Thalassemia is a hereditary blood disorder that causes your body to generate less hemoglobin than usual. Hemoglobin helps red blood cells transport oxygen. Anemia caused by thalassemia might leave you feeling fatigued. If you have moderate thalassemia, you may not require treatment. More severe disorders, on the other hand, may necessitate regular blood transfusions. Exhaustion can be alleviated by eating a good diet and exercising regularly.

Anemia Signs and Symptoms

Because the symptoms of low hemoglobin may be so modest, you may be unaware that you have anemia. Symptoms typically emerge when your blood cells decrease. Depending on the etiology of the anemia, the following low red blood cell count symptoms may be present:

  • Feeling dizzy,
  • lightheaded, or like you're
  • going to pass out?
  • Atypical or fast heartbeat
  • Headache
  • Bone, chest, stomach, and

Anemia Causes

Congenital anemia is a condition that occurs at birth, whereas acquired anemia is a disease that develops over time.

The following are some of the reasons for low hemoglobin:

  • Your body does not manufacture enough red blood cells.
  • Red blood cells are lost faster than they can be replaced following bleeding.
  • Red blood cells are destroyed by the body.

Hemoglobin Ayurvedic Treatment

According to Ayurveda, vikirita pitta, or wrongly flowing pitta (the fire element), is the source of nutritional deficiencies. Anemia is caused by an issue with the body's fire element rather than an evident nutritional lack. This condition is caused by the following factors:

  • Excessive consumption of sour and salty foods
  • Excessive physical exertion
  • To address these factors, you will need to do more than eat foods high in iron or vitamin B12.

Simple Ayurvedic iron management tips

Soak 2-3 teaspoons of fenugreek (methi) seeds overnight, then add to rice and boil. To address iron deficits in the body, make this recipe daily for a month. You may also season with salt to taste.

It is helpful to include Amla and Beetroot in your diet. You may also try Amla and Beetroot drinks to boost your iron levels.

Anemia sufferers can benefit from eating apples, bananas, dates, and pomegranates.

Combine half a cup apple juice and half a cup beetroot juice. Mix in the honey well. Drink this juice combo on a regular basis to enhance your iron levels.

Make a paste of soaked black sesame (til) and honey and keep it in the fridge. Consume this paste with milk on a regular basis.

Consuming a variety of green leafy vegetables, such as spinach, peas, beans, raisins, apricots, legumes, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, broccoli, tofu, and whole grains.

After waking up in the morning, consume 10-15 overnight soaked black raisins. This will aid in the increase of haemoglobin levels as well as the relief of constipation, which is prevalent in Anemia.

Fruits high in vitamin C, such as lemons, oranges, and tomatoes, can help the body absorb iron.

Cooking in iron pots or pans can help you get more iron into your diet.

If you have untreated diseases like as piles or menstruation difficulties, it is best to contact an experienced Vaidya or doctor to rule out any underlying causes of iron deficiency.
